Poland: Connex Will Not Buy Rapid Urban Railway in Tricity

Mikolaj Segien, CEO of Tricity's SKM (Rapid Urban Railway) managed to convince
the authorities to his vision for developing the company through a closer cooperation
with local governments, though the possible privatisation process is to be postponed.
SKM's privatization process begun in 2003. PKP SA (Polish Railways JSC), which
is (together with the Treasury) the owner of Tricity's SKM, supplied with Arthur
Andersen's and later Ernst and Young's consultants' opinions decided to sell the
company. Potential investors were even searched through the worldwide newspaper

know that SKM will not be sold to Connex.
Connex offer was not satisfying. Unofficially "Gazeta Wyborcza" daily
newspaper found out that the international firm wanted to pay only a few million
PLN for the company, which most possibly will bring a few millions revenue in
